If malicious software (malware) infects your computer it will stop it working properly.  Malware can also delete or corrupt your files and allow external parties to access your computer remotely, including your confidential information (scary thought, isn’t it).

To reduce the risk of malware, viruses and other IT nasties, it’s important to ensure you have installed (and activated) the latest security software. Regular back-ups of your data can also help you to recover lost information if a virus destroys your files, or your computer is stolen or damaged.
